Wall of Reverence is amazing. It's a 1/6 flyer that chumps Demigod of Revenge all day, only to gain more life at end of turn.
Its recent showing at Pro Tour - Kyoto has made it a runaway hit, and it's time you stocked up on some.
First of all go buy yourself a set of Wall of Reverence if you can still find them at under $1.
00 each, because they're selling out fast across all the major channels.
I picked up a set of regular ones and two foil ones at under $10 total the other day, and the site I bought them from only has thirteen regular ones at $2.
00 each now. Sorry, folks.
You missed out on the next Glimpse of Nature/Natural Order.
Well, that's not entirely true.
I don't expect Wall of Reverence to go past the $5.00 mark anytime soon, but even at that rate it's a 500% return on investment.
But what makes Wall of Reverence so good in Five-Color Control? It's simple. Five-Color Control is a deck which thrives on the late-game. Its goal in the early game is to take whatever beatings you give it and stabilize in the end.
It defends against the most savage attackers with Plumeveil and, sometimes, Kitchen Finks.
But that's essentially it.
With the addition of Wall of Reverence, you've given Five-Color Control two things:
The first is a 1/6 flying wall which survives onslaughts from Demigod of Revenge, Mistbind Clique, Ashenmoor Gouger, Shambling Remains, Hellspark Elemental, Doran the Siege Tower, Rhox War Monk, and much more.
The second is the ability to gain up to four life each turn with Plumeveil in play.
Against Faeries, this is especially crucial since most builds are shying away from Terror in place of Agony Warp.
This means that Wall of Reverence just got better against the decks that don't pack Terror anymore. Of course, one could derive from this post that Terror is now much more attractive than Agony Warp which is very true.
Terror right know eliminates nearly every single creature worth destroying.
In short, please buy yourself a set of Wall of Reverence.
At the very least, it's a great investment.
